There are many designated beach clean up days at the Lahaina Breakwall since many people and businesses enjoy and benefit from using the sand and surf. It’s an important way to pay homage to the beautiful environment we all revel in and love. Why wait for a specifically delegated day to show your appreciate though?
At Maui Surf Clinics, we believe EVERY day is an opportunity to clean up the beach! We take great pride in the surf break where we teach our surf lessons, as well as the beach out in front of our shop. Currently — worldwide — there are about five grocery bags full of plastic for every foot of coastline….By 2025, forecasts estimate that number to double to ten bags full! It’s a daunting prediction, but our action and stewardship can and will make a difference! If everyone does a little thing, that adds up to a whole lot of something!
When you sign up for a Maui surf lesson with Maui Surf Clinics, we not only teach surfing, but encourage “pono” (righteousness) in our actions and to “mālama ka ‘āina” (take care of the land)!
